All employees should have a competent understanding and be aware of possible fire hazards that exist in their workplace. Employees should also know what to do in case of a fire.

After successfully completing this course, employees will have the competent understanding of the following:

• Describing the fire triangle and how fires start and spread
• Components of a fire and dangers
• Identifing procedures that can help prevent fires
• Proper training, response, emergency action plans, and evacuation procedures (planning & steps)
• OSHA requirements regarding emergency action planning, fire prevention plans, and evacuations in the event of a serious fire (Regulations: 29 CFR 1910.38 and 1910.39)
